Hintzki Has Golden Goal Against El Tri

Should have been an easier game for us, but with a couple of guys missing it turned out to be a pretty close one. First half we had Brent and Hintzki on holding mids, Cary center and Cole on the right. Second half we switched Cary to the right and that worked much better. El Tri played pretty defensively, hoping for counter attacks with the fast wing players, otherwise staying back with a bunch of players. Cole had the best chance first half after a cross from the left but couldn't quite get to it. Overall El Tri had more possession and better chances, but our defense kept a clean sheet.

Second half with the wind we turned the table and got a whole series of good chances. Scott F. had two great ones, one hitting the crossbar, Pat and Cole had close shots as well. When everything looked like a tie, Cole set up Hintzki who hammered it just outside the box into the upper right - what a shot. Just minutes later, Hintzki went down outside the box but when all expected a call, the ref let it play on. The fastest El Tri player got a perfect pass straight through the middle, catching our defense a bit out of position, running towards our goal. At the last possible moment, Schluni caught up with him and saved the win with a full-speed but clean tackle inside the box. Well done.
