Cucuy FC - Indios FC 1:3 (0:0)
After a month of no games, it took us a while to get back into the groove. Missing a bunch of players on defenders we had to mix things up a bit, but Jesse and Victor stepped up to the plate and had both excellent games. Especially Jesse was running all over the field, making me tired just looking at it. We had our chances in first half, and Brent almost scored after a corner, but overall the Indios had more possession, and pressed us pretty hard. Kyle had a few great saves, and one that was really world-class, where he dived into the bottom left corner to save our tie at half time.
With only a few minutes into second half, CNate got his second yellow, so we had to play a man down. The Indio player definitely milked it (Chiellini, anybody?) but that second yellow was not completely undeserved either. That's when Cucuy really showed some character, because we didn't lie down but instead pushed the Indios back as good as possible. David K. even scored the 1:0 after a pretty decent run around three defenders on the right. The Indios weren't phased at all, biding their time and then scoring twice. Just before the final whistle, Kyle tried a little trick play, lost the ball, and found out that kicking a striker in the butt may lead to a penalty. Overall not a bad effort, with our best squad we would have given them a run for their money.
MVP: David K.
Goal: David K.
